2021 British MotoGP, Silverstone – Warm-up Results

Warm-up results from the British MotoGP at Silverstone, round 12 of the 2021 world championship.

Aleix Espargaro fuels Aprilia’s podium hopes by leading morning warm-up for the 2021 British MotoGP at Silverstone, ahead of LCR Honda’s Takaaki Nakagami and this afternoon’s pole starter Pol Espargaro (Repsol Honda).

Pol’s team-mate Marc Marquez, already battered and bruised from Friday’s 270km/h fall, suffered a much slower lowside in the closing stages of warm-up and swiftly reached for his recovering right shoulder. The Spaniard was unable to restart the bike.

Rookie Enea Bastianini walked away from a Turn 12 fall midway through the session.

With Maverick Vinales splitting from Yamaha after Austria, test rider Cal Crutchlow has been moved from Petronas Yamaha to the Monster Yamaha team at Silverstone. As a result of Crutchlow’s move, SRT has called-up Moto2 rider Jake Dixon to make a MotoGP debut in front of his home fans this weekend, riding in place of the injured Franco Morbidelli on the team’s 2019-based A-Spec bike.

Dixon was holding 19th, and ahead of team-mate Rossi, when he fell without harm in the final minute of warm-up having got a closest yet 1.622s from the top.
