3 Broncos players who should be traded next after Von Miller

After trading Von Miller to the Rams, the Denver Broncos appear to be sellers this season and should move quickly to capitalize on the trade value of its best assets.

Despite starting 3-0, the Denver Broncos have fallen to 4-4 after Week 8 and seem to be ready to punt the season and begin the build to next season. As a part of that, the Broncos have sent Super Bowl MVP and long-time franchise face, Von Miller, to the Los Angeles Rams for a 2022 second and third round pick.

As the trade deadline, now less than 24 hours away, rapidly approaches, the Broncos appear to be sellers this year, looking to rebuild the team this offseason. This likely means that we will see the Broncos make several more moves over the next 24 hours.

Who exactly do the Broncos need to move? Where could they land?

Melvin Gordon, Running Back

The former Charger, Melvin Gordon bet on himself in 2019 by holding out for a contract extension. He lost that bet and ended up becoming a free agent in need of an opportunity to prove he could still be the pro-bowl player that he was in 2018.

He would end up staying in the AFC West when he signed a short-term contract with the Denver Broncos. The Broncos, who already had Phillip Lindsay, thought Gordon would help elevate their offense and protect Drew Lock from himself. He would average 65.7 yards per game rushing, but the Broncos would fail to capitalize on his ability catching the ball out of the backfield, and thus never give him the ability to showcase his elite ability.

Gordon is making 4.5 million dollars this year, and despite the mediocre numbers of this and last season, he will be slated to make more money next year. The Broncos are going to want to cut cost as soon as possible and moving Melvin Gordon is a great way to do that.

A team that could desperately use some help in the backfield all of a sudden are the Tennessee Titans. It was announced this morning that Derrick Henry is having surgery on his foot and will be out at least eight weeks, if not the rest of the season. The Titans are the only competitive team in their division, but if they want to compete for a title, they will need some fresh legs. Looks for them to make a move if Gordon is available.
