These NFL quarterbacks may need to go grab some pine after their Week 12 performances.

Even with three games being played out on Thanksgiving, bad quarterback play was ever-present in the early-afternoon window in NFL Week 12.

While weather is becoming a bigger issue by the week, seemingly the only constant we have as football fans on Sundays is horrendous quarterback play being on display from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. ET every single week. Whether it is the stat line or the final score, these three signal-callers were primary reasons why their teams suffered ugly losses. Maybe their backups should get some run?

All three of these playoff contenders were hurt considerably by their quarterbacks on Sunday.

Sunday was a primary example of what Jalen Hurts’ floor is as an NFL starter

Under first-year head coach Nick Sirianni, the Philadelphia Eagles have massively overachieved. This team was thought to be among the very worst in the NFC. With a chance at getting to .500 on Sunday vs. the division rival New York Giants, Jalen Hurts put forth arguably the worst start of his professional career. The Eagles offense was listless, as Hurts threw three picks in the 13-7 defeat.

Ball security has long been an issue throughout Daniel Jones’ NFL career. However, he outplayed his counterpart Hurts considerably in a gotta-have-it game for both teams. This was a Freddie Kitchens-led Giants offense, who took over play-calling for New York’s former offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. Still, Hurts played like he knew Lincoln Riley was leaving Oklahoma.

On the afternoon, Hurts completed 14-of-31 passes for 129 yards, three interceptions and no touchdowns. Though he did lead all players with 77 rushing yards on eight carries, Sunday was prime example of why some people are skeptical about Hurts being a franchise quarterback. Had Gardner Minshew gotten the start, The Birds would have won this winnable game, 100 percent.

The amount of variance associated with Hurts under center limits his viable as a long-term starter.
