The early window of NFL Week 10 provided the world with some horrendous quarterback play.
Every fall, once a week, during the same time slot, a handful of NFL starting quarterbacks will do their best to set the position they play professionally back a generation.
While some signal-callers have banner days in the early-afternoon slate, others man the position like they are playing in the worst game the ACC or Big Ten could ever hope to provide. The worst part in all this is these men get paid millions of dollars to play a kid’s game horrendously for all the world to see. Jobs are on the line here, so it would not be shocking to see some plugs get pulled.
These three starting quarterbacks played badly enough to either hold a clipboard next week or are in dire need of spending some extra time in the film room.

Trevor Lawrence won’t be benched, but he must elevate the Jacksonville Jaguars
This last spot was up for debate. Matt Ryan played arguably the worst game of his borderline hall-of-fame career vs. the Dallas Cowboys. However, any notion of him getting benched for Josh Rosen was laid to rest when he threw a pick on his first Atlanta Falcons passing attempt. But when it comes to Trevor Lawrence, he is why the Jacksonville Jaguars did not win in Week 10.
While Jacksonville may be one of the least talented rosters in the NFL, the Indianapolis Colts were ripe for picking on Sunday. Carson Wentz was his usual not-great self under center. This game may have been on the road for the Jaguars, but it was in a dome. Unfortunately, Lawrence played his like Clemson predecessor D.J. Uiagalelei, as he was simply not dynamic enough to win this week.
Even if Lawrence is not getting benched anytime soon, his 4.6 yards per attempt was actually worse than Wentz’s 5.3. He completed fewer than half of his passes (16-of-35) and only threw for 162 yards on the afternoon. Lawrence averaged more yards on the ground (6.6) than he did through the air. A more dynamic quarterback would have won this game. Lawrence was not that.
Sunday was a blown opportunity for Lawrence and the Jaguars to build some positive momentum.
