If the Denver Broncos are to move on from head coach Vic Fangio after the season, here are three replacements the team should consider.

The Denver Broncos have one of the more complete rosters across the league. Their defense is still very stout, despite trading Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams, and their offensive playmakers are solid. But, the team has yet to make the playoffs under head coach Vic Fangio.

After being hired as head coach in 2019 following his stint as Chicago Bears defensive coordinator, the results under Fangio have been mixed. This year, the Broncos are in position to compete for a playoff spot and had the chance to sit two games above .500 with a victory in Week 15. However, they lost 15-10 to the Cincinnati Bengals to fall to 7-7.

Perhaps the most telling stat for the Broncos is they are 1-22 when they are trailing at halftime under Fangio. That comes in 46 games as Denver’s head coach.

If the Broncos are to move on from Fangio after this season, they should consider one of these three replacement options.

Broncos: Vic Fangio replacements at head coach Denver could hire

Nathaniel Hackett, Packers offensive coordinator

If you are the Broncos, you have to look at the top team in the league, the Green Bay Packers. Considering Denver has spectacular talent on the offensive side of the ball, they need a coach who could get the most out of them.

Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett should be on their radar.

Green Bay’s offense has been thriving as of late, even with their numerous injuries along the offensive line. Yes, it helps to have Aaron Rodgers at the helm, but the entire offense is succeeding. Through 14 yards this season, the Packers are averaging 360.4 yards of total offense and 25.6 points per game.

Prior to joining Matt LaFleur in Green Bay, Hackett served as Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He later joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015 as a quarterbacks coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2016. He was most notably a part of the 2017 Jaguars team that made a miraculous run to the AFC Championship Game.

Hackett is an intriguing option for the Broncos.
