Falcons bettors take brutal bad beat against Washington

The Atlanta Falcons found another way to lose in the last minute of the game. This time, it was as the 1.5 favorite over the Washington Football Team.

If the Atlanta Falcons can’t win 28-3, they can’t be expected to win anything, really.

Still, hopeless Falcons fans tune in every week as their team trudges through another losing season.

It’s not that the Falcons don’t have the personnel — Matt Ryan can throw, and WR/RB/ETC Cordarrelle Patterson has finally found his home on an offense — but the Falcons somehow find a new way to lose every week. It happened in 2017, it happened in 2020, and it’s happening again in 2021.

There are worse football teams, but nobody can lose quite like the Atlanta Falcons can lose

But this time may be a little more costly: the Falcons were actually betting favorites in their Week 4 game against Washington by 1.5 points. It wasn’t unreasonable — after all, this was the Washington Football Team.

And the Falcons would have easily covered the spread if not for a complete breakdown in the last minute of the game.

If ATL knew the spread they’ll take the FG right?🤣🤣

The most the Atlanta Falcons will do is give you a good sweat before blowing a 98% cover in the last minute.

This team sucks!

Falcons choke again, costing bettors in a spread they should have won

The Falcons have had a sorry season so far, encapsulated by the pathetic plagiarized apology they stole from the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Twitter after their Week 2 loss.

After an 0-2 start, things looked better for the team in a Week 3 win over the New York Giants. The Falcons took an early lead against Washington, heading into the locker room at halftime with 17-13.

But the Falcons lost it all in the second half, a move that’s become trademark for the dysfunctional franchise. After a two-point conversion failed and the score stood at 30-28, the Falcons still had a chance to cover the spread and give something back to those who believed in them.

Instead, they wasted Matt Ryan’s talent and Cordarrelle Patterson’s touchdowns in another pointless loss.

If the lost money and losing season has Falcons fans fretting, don’t worry: the team’s got a Ted Lasso-themed inspirational poster ready to greet them after this week’s game.
