The New York Giants are winless, and it looks like everybody is starting to get sick of it.

New York Giants owner and president John Mara was among those who were upset after a 17-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon. The Giants now sit at the bottom of the NFC East with an 0-3 record.

To Mara and other Giants supporters’ credit, this season’s frustration has been brewing for a long time. In the past nine seasons, New York only has one .500 record in the regular season. That was in 2016 when they lost 38-13 to the Packers in the Wild Card game. They have lost 10 or more games every season since 2016.

For Mara, who has presided over two Giants Super Bowl titles since becoming the team’s president in 2005, this drought is getting to be too much. According to the New York Post, he kicked over trash cans in the aftermath of Week 3’s loss.

Who can blame him? The Giants gave the game away with penalties and only managed one touchdown and a pair of field goals against an Atlanta defense that had allowed 80 points through the first two games. For someone who has invested in New York for decades, their lack of success or even improvement warrants some emotional outbursts.

Now New York has to take its dejected franchise and make a watchable game against the 2-1 New Orleans Saints next week. Let’s hope the Giants can get Mara a high-quality stress ball in the meantime.
