Injured Russell Wilson sets new bar for corny looks with pregame workout (Video)

Russell Wilson’s faux two-minute drill during pre-game probably looked much cooler in his head.

Prior to Sunday night’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson took to the field to have a unique workout. Wilson, who is currently on IR with a hand injury suffered against the Los Angeles Rams, held a fake two-minute drill, with no teammates, no opponent, and also no ball.

This was not just a casual fake two-minute drill either, oh no! It included audibles to no one, scrambling from no one, showboating for nothing, and huddling by himself.

There are even sound effects, which Russell Wilson himself provides.

Russell Wilson can’t seem to help himself but be unbearably corny

Words can not begin to describe how cringy and corny this was, although FanSided NFL reporter Matt Verderame did take a pretty good stab at it.

Others have compared this to the actions of a grade school child, on the playground, potentially doing the same thing in hopes that his crush is somewhere nearby watching. The only problem is that Russell Wilson is married, no longer in school, and 32 years old.

Wilson, who is not eligible to return to football until Week 10, does seem to be ahead of schedule in recovering and rehabbing his injury. The Seattle Seahawks are extremely optimistic that he will be able to return to the field before Thanksgiving and lead the team in the second half of the season to push for the playoffs.

Hopefully, these fake two-minute drill skills translate to real game action.
