The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers are among the NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 3.

Sometimes one play can make the difference between a nail-biting win and an upset loss. The Washington Football Team nearly learned this the hard way last week when Dexter Lawrence’s offsides penalty spared them a loss (which we warned the Football Team about in last week’s upset alert column).

There are some marquee matchups on tap for this week and some more potential upset victims on tap. All odds referenced in this story are provided courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.

3. NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 3 – Dallas Cowboys

America’s Team got on the board with a tight win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday but it was a tight finish. Greg Zuerlein nailed a 56-yard field goal at the gun to help Dallas pick up an important victory that helped pull them into a tie for first place in the NFC East.

The effort was far from pretty for the Cowboys, who saw Ezekiel Elliott struggle to establish himself in the running game. The Chargers also moved the ball very well against the Cowboys’ defense but a pair of interceptions from Justin Herbert short-circuited key drives.

The Cowboys head home this week for a Monday night matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles where they are favored by 3.5 points. Division games are always tricky and Philadelphia has proven to be better than expected after a blowout win in Week 1 against Atlanta before playing the 49ers hard in Week 2.

This game has shootout potential if the Cowboys’ defensive struggles continue. Don’t be shocked if the Eagles walk into JerryWorld and leave with first place in the division.
