Oh, the 1990s. What an interesting time they were. In the era of grunge music and denim jorts, some of the NFL’s all-time greats put on a show every Sunday. Today, we look at the best NFL players of the 1990s.

Who were the best NFL players in the 1990s?

30. Cortez Kennedy

We start the list with one of the best interior defensive lineman of all time. At 6-3, 305 pounds, Kennedy was an absolute unit in the middle of the Seahawks front four. The Seahawks took Kennedy third overall in the 1990 NFL Draft, and he would prove them right several times over.

In his second year in 1991, Kennedy earned his first of eight Pro Bowl selections. He had 73 tackles and 6.5 sacks, and the year he had in 1992 was the best of his career. In his third season in Seattle, Kennedy notched 92 tackles and 14 sacks, as well as forcing four fumbles. He earned his first in what would be three consecutive All-Pro selections and he was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Kennedy would go on to have four more Pro Bowl bids from 1995-99, cementing himself as one of the greatest defensive tackles in NFL history.

He retired in 2000 with 669 tackles, 58 sacks, and 11 forced fumbles. Throughout his career, he played in eight Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro three times, as well as being a member of  the 1990s All-Decade team and one of the best Seahawks in franchise history.
