Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa had some harsh criticism for officials on Monday night.
The Los Angeles Chargers are now 3-1 after defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 28-14 on Monday night.
Despite putting an end to the Raiders undefeated season, Chargers star pass-rusher Joey Bosa was not all smiles postgame.
Bosa received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after arguing with officials on a missed call and was still seething about it to reporters after the game. When asked about the penalty, he mercilessly tore into the officiating crew.
“I didn’t even know they called the f***ing penalty on me because I was fuming,” Bosa said. But, I mean, refs are blind, simple. I’m sorry, but you’re blind, like open your eyes and do your job. It’s so bad it’s unbelievable.”

Yikes, tell us how you really feel Bosa. The missed call in question was a holding penalty on Bosa, but the Pro Bowler’s criticism seems to go much deeper than just one play.

Officiating is always a scapegoat for disappointed players and fans, and every season there are a few blown calls that shift the trajectory of big games to credit those ref-rejectors. This season is the worst in a while for the stripes. Highly subjective new taunting rules have led to extreme inconsistency and amplified the tension between officials and teams.
Bosa went on to take some responsibility for the penalty he got but certainly didn’t hand out any apologies to officials.
“I should never lose my temper like that, but these guys have got to do a better job because it’s been years of terrible missed calls left and right,” Bosa said. “It’s really pathetic, honestly, but pathetic on me too for doing what I did.”
At the end of the night, Bosa walked away with his 50th career sack and a big win for the Chargers, so hopefully, his thoughts on the officiating didn’t keep him up at night.
